The All-Encompassing Global Solution to Climate Change That Explains How Manmade Emissions Can Be Reduced to Zero by 2050. Check out the website on a fullwidth desktop browser for the best experience.

Make no mistake, climate change is the biggest threat we have ever faced. If we continue to emit greenhouse gases at the current rate, our planet will be beyond salvation in less than a decade. We need to act fast, and we need to act now, but what can we do? ZERO-FIFTY is an all-encompassing graphical solution to climate change that demonstrates how manmade emissions can be reduced to zero by the year 2050. This is accomplished by groundbreaking policies, bold regulation changes and a series of innovative energy generating tower designs. Find out more by watching the ZERO-FIFTY video trailer.

  • Our website is very secure, with all data transferred between your browser and our website encrypted, all back-ups of our website encrypted, all data scanned daily for malware and viruses and all content on our website protected by two step verification.
  • Our website is hosted on servers that use 100% renewable energy. Furthermore, our website is backed up on servers that run 100% on renewable energy. This means the amount of greenhouse gas produced by our website has been massively reduced. We can’t claim that that use of this website is greenhouse gas free though. This is because we don’t know how much greenhouse gas was emitted in in the construction of the servers.
  • We have four chapters left to proofread for ZERO-FIFTY. Each chapter typically takes about two months, so we estimate completing the book in roughly eight months. ZERO-FIFTY will likely be published and available to purchase a few months after this.
  • We do not have an exact price yet, but we estimate the book will cost around £22 GBP for the UK, €25 for Europe and $30 USD for the rest of the world. Please note, prices do not include postage.
  • Subject to availability, ZERO-FIFTY will take two working days to deliver to the UK, five working days to deliver to Europe and seven days to deliver to the rest of the world.
  • For the time being at least, you will only be able to buy ZERO-FIFTY on our website – www.zero-fifty.com. This is to keep the price of the book as low as possible. In fact, if we sold our book on other websites, or in retail stores, it would likely be twice the price.
  • If you live in the European Union, you can return your copy of ZERO-FIFTY for a period of up to 14 days after receipt.
  • We hope to release the app by the end of the year. This will include all the draft content contained on the website as well automated downloads of any new content that we create.
  • The app will be available on all iOS, windows and android tablet devices.
  • Prior to publication of the book, the app will likely cost £4.99. Once the book is released, the cost of the app will increase to £6.99.
  • You certainly can. Please simply give us a call on +44 (0) 1904 466 020 and we can organise your donation over the phone.
  • Absolutely. To do this, please give us a call on +44 (0) 1904 466 020 and we can process your donation over the phone.
  • We welcome assistance with writing, proofreading, researching, graphics design, 3D modelling, visuals and marketing for ZERO-FIFTY. If you are interested in getting involved, please send us a copy of your CV to david-and-alexa@zero-fifty.com.
  • To assist with the writing or proofreading, you will need to be an experienced writer or proof-reader, or have a degree in journalism or something equivalent. To assist with the research, you will need to have a degree or a masters relevant to the area of research you will be assisting with. To assist with the graphics design, you will need to have a degree in graphics design or equivalent. To assist with the 3D modelling and visualisation, you will need to be studying or have studied architecture and be experienced using complex 3D modelling software.
  • Unfortunately, we have a limited amount of space so you will have to volunteer from your home or office. Correspondence can be undertaken by a combination of emails and video calls.
  • Absolutely. The wonders of modern technology mean you can volunteer at ZERO-FIFTY from anywhere in the world.
  • Sorry, you will need to use your own computer if you would like to volunteer with us.
  • For the time being, our volunteers are responsible for providing their own software licenses.
  • You will learn how to formulate engaging graphical arguments about some of the most complex issues our society is facing today. You will also develop expert software skills in a variety of packages. This includes Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. You will also earn yourself a fantastic reference from us, meet a wealth of like-minded people, receive accreditation within the book, and get a great feeling for doing something that truly makes the planet a better place.
  • All the work undertaken for ZERO-FIFTY is by volunteers, and as such there are no paid positions available.
  • All our electricity we use is supplied by renewable energy. This makes our operations generally emission free.
  • We need to use high-end computers and equipment for the creation of ZERO-FIFTY, all of which have likely caused a significant amount of greenhouse gas emissions during their manufacture. To minimise these emissions, we only invest in refurbished models that can easily be recycled, however, we are yet to find a company that manufactures equipment without producing any greenhouse gases. Let us know if you find one!

Donate to ZERO-FIFTY

To help us complete ZERO-FIFTY as soon as possible, we will soon be taking donations. The donations will help us complete the research required to finalise the book, fund the equipment we need to undertake the research, market the ideas contained within the book and aid us with the printing costs. The donations will also help fund our travels to schools, colleges, businesses and universities, where we will inform students not only about the damage climate change will bring, but about how this damage can be stopped. Finally, the donations will help us create exhibitions and events related to ZERO-FIFTY that explain both about climate change, and how it can be stopped. If you are interested in making a donation, please sign up to our newsletter by pressing the link below.

ZERO-FIFTY Volunteers

The creation of ZERO-FIFTY has been a mammoth undertaking, far too great for just two people. To assist us, over 100 people have volunteered their time over the course of the last four years - some for a few days, some for a few weeks, and some even for several months. We would like to say a big thank-you to all of our volunteers, as without their assistance, ZERO-FIFTY simply would not have been achievable. Our work at ZERO-FIFTY is not over yet though, and we are searching for even more people who are interested in volunteering their time to assist us. This includes managing our social media accounts, assisting with the sourcing, translations, creating visuals and designing infographics. As such, if you have a background in design, architecture or writing, and are interested in getting involved, please send us a message.

Make no mistake, climate change is the biggest threat humankind has ever faced. If we continue to emit carbon dioxide at the current rate our planet could be beyond salvation in less than a decade. We need to act fast, and we need to act now, but what can we do? Most books and documentaries that tackle climate change only write about the problem, not the solution.

ZERO-FIFTY bridges that gap by providing the first all-encompassing global solution to climate change. Written by David James-Arnold and Alexa James-Ratzlaff, ZERO-FIFTY starts by creating a vision of what our planet will look like if we choose to ignore the threat of climate change. The authors then graphically explain how our planet can dramatically reduce its energy consumption over the next 35 years. This includes showing how we can substantially reduce the amount of energy our buildings, vehicles and factories consume, all with minimal disruption to our modern lifestyle. Finally, the authors demonstrate how we can power our remaining energy demand using a combination of existing technologies and a selection of highly innovative urban energy generating towers.

Soon to be released, ZERO-FIFTY will be available as an 800+ page book and as an IOS, Android and Windows App. A free online draft is also available on the ZERO-FIFTY website. Visit www.zero-fifty.com for more details.

ZERO-FIFTY Image Credits

Within the ZERO-FIFTY website we have used a variety of images. This includes images we have purchased licenses for, images that have been released under Creative Commons licenses and images that have been released into the public domain. At ZERO-FIFTY, we believe in providing credit where credit is due, and as such, the majority of the images we use are credited directly on the page they are shown. However, this is not always possible. As such, to ensure all image authors are credited, we have provided the missing credits on this page. We would also like to take this opportunity to say thank-you to all those who have been gracious enough to make their images available for free. Without your generosity, ZERO-FIFTY would simply not have been possible.

We are committed to keeping it as a high priority and will implement it on this website as soon as we are able to.
